General Info

Tucked along Clement Street, Harajuku Sushi at 1814 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94121, United States feels like one of those neighborhood spots you’re glad you discovered. The restaurant has a relaxed, welcoming vibe that works equally well for a quick solo meal or a casual outing with family. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is friendly and comfortable, and small touches like Wi-Fi access, healthy menu options, and a kid-friendly setting make it easy to settle in and enjoy your time.

The menu at this sushi restaurant leans classic but adds just enough creativity to keep things interesting. During my visit, the Blue Fin Toro Nigiri with Black Truffle Paste immediately stood out. The toro itself was rich and buttery, and the subtle truffle flavor added a surprising depth that didn’t overpower the fish. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause for a second after the first bite, just to appreciate how well the flavors come together.

Seafood lovers will probably notice the Oysters Fry K-42 listed among the highlights. Crispy on the outside and tender inside, the oysters have a satisfying texture and a light, golden crust. It’s a great option if you want something warm and comforting before diving into the sushi selections.

The kitchen also offers several hearty dishes beyond sushi. The Chicken Teriyaki delivers that familiar balance of sweet and savory, served hot and satisfying. If you’re in the mood for noodles, the Katsu Curry Udon Ramen Thin Egg Noodle brings together crispy katsu, rich curry flavor, and smooth noodles in one bowl. It’s filling without feeling overly heavy, which is perfect if you want something comforting after a long day.

For something lighter, the Wakame provides a refreshing contrast to the richer items on the menu. Its clean taste and soft texture help balance the meal nicely, especially when paired with sushi or grilled dishes.

One thing that makes Harajuku Sushi easy to enjoy is the thoughtful mix of services. The restaurant works well for solo dining, but it’s also comfortable for small groups or families since it’s good for kids. The availability of wine adds another layer to the experience, making it easy to pair a drink with sushi or a warm noodle dish.

After spending some time here, it’s clear why the restaurant continues to attract regular diners in the neighborhood. The menu offers a mix of classic Japanese favorites and distinctive highlights, the location on Clement Street is convenient, and the overall dining experience feels relaxed and genuine. It’s the type of place people mention when sharing local reviews with friends who want reliable sushi and a comfortable place to enjoy it.

What customers say?

“ Wonderful and light jazz music with excellent service and very good sushi at this AYCE sushi restaurant. We both ordered the gold level ($55 vs $45) which offered two items for each person from a select and small menu. So for the $10 difference, I got two orders (4 pieces) of UNI!!! They were all excellent and absolutely made this a bargain! For the other two items, we got an order of hotatae or scallops which was good but not great and a sashimi blue fin toro (4 pieces) which were excellent. We had three and a half rounds before we stopped as we could not eat another bite. The restaurant was empty except for one other couple that came in after us so we had the place to ourselves! For the other dishes, the salmon nigiri or sashimi was really really good while we also loved the unagi nigiri which we ordered three times!! We also recommend the spider and unagi hand roll as we wouldn’t have been able to finish a big roll!!! Kanpachi sashimi was also very good as well as amberjack. But the hamachi tasted a bit off while the maguro was ok. Saki was the winner. Service was wonderful and we got soup and some pickled thinly sliced turnips as well. Given the incredible flavor of the uni, blue fin toro, saki and unagi, we’d come back again for sure!! ”

“ First time experience was excellent, sushi was fresh and very delicious. Great appetizers. I returned this past week and was told by the server that they no longer do all you can eat for one person, only party’s of two or more. Not sure why that is, but I got up and left since what I wanted wasn’t available anymore. Won’t be returning ever again ”

“ My husband and I stopped by this place since we were looking around for food. We got a variety of dishes but I ended up only taking a picture of this dish: Blue Fin Tuna and Hamachi Don - this was delicious and I really enjoyed it. We also ordered the Bone-in chicken karaage but that was our least favorite. The batter was very different from the other karaages we have tried and it tasted like churro batter - had some spices and the batter was chewy and seemed like they used some sort of potato starch or cornstarch which we didn’t really enjoy. Overall the price is good and the food is great (except the karaage for us). ”

“ My best friend and I were told about this spot by another friend and decided to stop by for dinner and we will most definitely be back again! It's an all you can eat sushi spot with silver or gold options ( a literal $5 difference) and we got the gold option that gave us 2 options from a select menu and its 6 items per table and you can order again every ten minutes after youve eaten everything on the first order. We went three rounds before Tapping out , we got so full! You get miso soup AND WHITE PICKLED RADISH!! I love white radish so I was so happy lol our server Nicole was super sweet and also happy to hear I liked the radish and filled our bowl completely full when I asked for more. She was super helpful as well since it was our first time there and we didn't realize we hadn't out our second order in and came over to assist us All of the sushi and the appetizers were absolutely delicious and made super quickly. The tuna Tatar , super California roll. Lion king roll , spider roll and the soft shell crab hand rolls were my favorite! ( I love soft shell crab and they had so many options) There is also nice jazz music playing ( I do believe from a live band next door) and we really enjoyed that while eating. When we got ready to leave Nicole told us to wait and she ran back and brought us each a small haagen dazs ice cream to take home! We will most definitely be back again ! The price was honeslty so cheap. Had we gotten the same amount at our usual sushi spot it would have cost so much more. I didn't take many photos since we were hungry but everything was super delish! ”

“ Harajuku Sushi was the only place we found in San Francisco Ca USA that was an excellent eat all you can Japanese food. The price was quite decent considering the menu options, lots of sushi and sashimi. They also had drink all you can beer and warm sake for additional $10! Nicole our server was very accommodating she always smiled. I came with my wife and adult son. Nicole served cake and ice cream for my son because it was his birthday. This place is awesome we will surely come back next time we visit San Francisco! ”
